China is mulling a Yin and Yang strategy for the upcoming championship, based on the inside and outside games of Yao Ming and Wang Zhizhi, known together as the “Walking Great Wall.” While the key to Yao’s participation will be whether or not he can fully recuperate from a foot he broke in a Houston Rocket match in April, Wang, who was China’s first NBA player subsequently kicked off the national team after refusing to play for China to pursue a NBA career, has been brought back into the squad in the hopes China can win its first-ever Olympic basketball medal on home soil in 2008.
